Climate Emergency: What Can I Do
The biggest and best Brighton Bike of all will be joining us for 'Climate Emergency: What Can I Do' creative outreach at Brighton Unitarian Church on the 19th! We need volunteers to help her get there!
If you can spare a few hours of your time between 10.30 and 4.30 next Saturday we would love you to join us! (You don’t have to do the full 6 hours.)
A driver with a long wheel base transit van (or someone happy to do two storage runs with a smaller van. The storage isn’t far.)

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
Prepare for Rebellion!
Knowing your legal rights can make a huge difference to the outcome of an encounter with the Police.
Your rights are covered in this essential video: https://youtu.be/VnezsIlm928
You can watch it in sections, with links to written resources.
Optional Q&A sessions will cover 'what it's like to be arrested' and any questions that weren't covered in the video.
Ensure you've watched the video carefully before attending the Q&A - they aren't a substitute.

Thursday, 24 March 6-8pm: https://xrb.link/La7LmS
Thursday, 31 March 6.30-8pm: https://xrb.link/hr0Wb9
The video covers the legal position in England & Wales. We can't give guidance on the implications of the PCSC bill, because the wording hasn't yet been finalised.

The next Rebellion starts at 10:00 Saturday 9 April in Hyde Park, London
We will gather the movement together in Rebellion using focused and ambitiously creative civil resistance and material disruption. Our strategy identifies multiple strands of activity that must be coordinated. The Extinction Rebellion has always been greater than the sum of its parts. This year those parts have a fundamental duty to collaborate, to act together.
What we do in our regions and nations will ultimately determine the success of our Rebellions; what we do here in the UK will act as a powerful accelerator for the rest of the world.
Think of all we have done so far as an experiment, XR paying its dues.
Read the 2022 Strategy here: https://extinctionrebellion.uk/2022/01/23/xr-uk-strategy-2022/
Come along to our Tuesday meetings to see how you can get involved (details at the end of the newsletter).
As rebels put their bodies directly in the way of the fossil fuel infrastructure, we must provide the canvas for genuine mass participation in London - a demonstration of people power, where our resistance is open to all and impossible to ignore, and our strength lies in our conviction, not our kit.

If you are interested in taking part in this research survey use the link to access more information.
I am writing to invite you to take part in a research study I am conducting as a psychology student at the University of Sussex, UK, among supporters of the Extinction Rebellion, with a specific focus on attitudes surrounding collective action against climate change. You would need to complete an anonymous online survey, which will last approximately 15 minutes. There are no risks involved in this study, and participation is completely voluntary. Would you be interested in participating? If so, please use https://universityofsussex.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_72pDzOa7EoKHqE6 to access the survey.
Thank you in advance.
