WHAT’S NEXT?
Adam McKay, Director of Don’t Look Up, talks live about the Climate Crisis and What’s To Be Done
“I couldn’t be more freaked out!” Just Stop Oil presents Adam McKay, director of 'Don’t Look Up', talking about the film, the climate crisis and what's to be done.
Adam McKay, like billions of other people on this planet, could not be more freaked out. Why the fuck is nothing happening? Adam directed Don’t Look Up, the biggest film on the climate crisis in a decade. 150 million hours of viewing time within a week of its release. What more can we say?
The Just Stop Oil Coalition is really pleased to host Adam speaking about the film, the crisis, and what to do, on Sunday March 6th at 8pm.
The Just Stop Oil Coalition are coordinating thousands of people coming out on the streets and blocking oil refineries this Spring.
Details of how to support and join will be given after this talk.
We will win this together or we will regret it forever.

MARCH 19TH AT THE UNITARIAN CHURCH: 12-4PM
XRB Creatives are putting on an exciting day of arts and crafts, music, live performances and talks next month. We will have block printing available so do come on down with flags / t-shirts / anything you want printed in prep for the April rebellion!
Are you part of an arts based XR group and want to do a performance on the day? Hold a workshop? A spoken-word poet? Or are you / do you know about a great local sustainability initiative who would want a presence on the day? Do get in contact with Sian (telegram: @sianrosak) who is helping to organise the event.
Would you like to help spread the word about the upcoming Rebellion in April? A bunch of Rebels will be cycling the Climate Cycle (a giant penny-farthing) from BN1 to the Unitarian Church on Saturday March 19th.
We are looking for cyclists and stewards. If you'd like to join us contact: bigbuild2021team@protonmail.com.
DANCE BECAUSE THERE’S NO TOMORROW
At this point, when we are celebrating 3 years of Extinction Rebellion, we must remember what we are.
We are a family. A family of many families that, together, shook streets across the world with our Love and Courage. ☮
In 2022, we are coming bigger, faster and louder. We will not be bystanders. We refuse to bequeath a dying planet to future generations by failing to act now.
This is it. It's time to step up.
Earth Ball 2022 is happening just before Extinction Rebellion's act of mass civil resistance in April, and we're inviting everyone to come together and join us, to dance and have fun before we take to the streets.
Parts of the event will be live-streamed, and Digital Rebellion are pulling together a virtual experience for people who cannot attend in person to enjoy.
The venue will include:
-
6 bars
-
vegan food
-
3 dancefloors
-
3 stages
-
a chill and chat room
-
Children's rave

APRIL REBELLION
The next Rebellion starts at 10:00 Saturday 9 April in Hyde Park, London
We will gather the movement together in Rebellion using focused and ambitiously creative civil resistance and material disruption. Our strategy identifies multiple strands of activity that must be coordinated. Extinction Rebellion has always been greater than the sum of its parts. This year those parts have a fundamental duty to collaborate, to act together.
What we do in our regions and nations will ultimately determine the success of our Rebellions; what we do here in the UK will act as a powerful accelerator for the rest of the world.
Think of all we have done so far as an experiment, XR paying its dues.
Read the 2022 Strategy here: https://extinctionrebellion.uk/2022/01/23/xr-uk-strategy-2022/
Come along to our Tuesday meetings to see how you can get involved (details at the end of the newsletter).
