WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?
BARCLAYS BANK ACTION
Last week the XR Meditators were in action again outside Barclays in North Street. We handed out leaflets and spoke to passers-by, many of whom were sympathetic. Barclays are currently the bank with the biggest investment in fossil fuels in Europe.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT?
COP26 REBEL RIDERS SEND-OFF
The bike squad rebels are leaving Brighton on the 24th at 8am.
Meet at 7:45am by the i360 to wish them the best on their journey!
They will be covering on average 60 miles per day over nine days, a total of 522 miles.
The aim is to raise awareness along the way about the climate emergency we are facing and discuss what we can do within our communities and what we want to see in our future.
The journey will also be supporting Practical Action, a brilliant charity that is already supporting communities around the world to adapt and mitigate against the onset of climate breakdown.

The Brighton COP26 coalition is organising the biggest possible protest in our city on Saturday 6 November (rally and march assembling 12 noon at The Level, setting off at 1pm) as part of a day of action taking place as the COP26 summit meets in Glasgow.

CAN YOU HOST A REBEL ON NOVEMBER 13TH?
On 13th and 14th November, an XR Central team will be coming to Brighton to run in-person training in co-liberation. Rebels will be travelling from around the country to attend, and some would benefit from a place to stay. Could you put someone up overnight?

DON’T DRILL DUNSFORD
A new camp has been erected overnight to oppose UKOG (UK-Oil-and-Gas) drilling on the edge of Surrey hills AONB (Area of outstanding natural beauty).
The camp is fully geared out for long-standing occupation of the site, with food, firewood, two bell tents and a very sturdy pallet house!
The camp currently has a crew of 10+ but it is looking for more numbers to really get momentum up at the start of this occupation.
If you would like to come and get involved with the start of this momentous campaign against new oil and gas in the UK.

LET’S CULTIVATE A REGENERATIVE COMMUNITY
We’re planting out 200 trees over the weekend of the 27th - 28th of November.
The plan is to create a nature corridor, from Falmer to Castle Hill; all you will need is a spade, gloves, and your own drinks and snacks.

We are now holding two meetings a week, one online on Tuesdays and one in person on Thursdays. Everyone is welcome. Come, join in, reflect, and plan our way to make a difference and create change. It’s you that makes the difference!
