Sound the Alarm at the Labour Party Conference
22nd Sep 2019 10:00
24th Sep 2019 18:00
Old Steine Gardens
From Sunday 22nd September the Labour party are holding their annual conference in Brighton. It is one of the largest and most high profile political events in Europe. With over 13,000 people expected to attend over the 5-day event, delegates will debate Labour’s vision for Britain.
This is an opportune moment to demonstrate our determination and tell the truth to the Labour party: urgent action is needed in the face of the ecological and climate emergency - decarbonisation by 2050 is a suicide note. We’re demanding Labour tell the truth, that the ecological crisis is the number one priority for the lives of the many, and that social justice for all depends on climate justice.
JOIN US on the streets of Brighton to:
Ensure Labour make the ecological and climate crisis the number one concern at the conference, and push for net zero carbon by 2025.
Encourage Labour to join us during the International Rebellion starting 7th October in London
We must TELL THE TRUTH and demand politicians to ACT NOW.
Meet on Hove Lawns at 10am on Sunday 22nd September, ready to march. We will parade with rebellious energy and creativity along the seafront to the Brighton Centre, where the conference is being held. We will make our presence known and deliver our message. Following this, we will continue to Old Steine gardens. There we will blockade the roads and create a space to give opportunities to engage and connect with the thousands of activists visiting the city, including:
Heading for Extinction talks
Talks about October Rebellion
Creative activities including block printing
People’s Assembly and info on Citizen’s Assembly
Despair Ends and Tactics Begin. Join the Rebellion.
This action is supported by Extinction Rebellion UK.
