Brighton City Centre Car free by ‘23
Brighton & Hove City Council
Brighton and Hove still has illegal levels of air pollution. Road transport emissions are responsible for 33% of the CO2 in our city.
A motion has been put forward that a report is created that explores the feasibility and costs of developing a car-free city centre by 2023 whilst minimising the effect on businesses and those with accessibility needs.
Rebels what can you do to support this?
EMAIL the councillors with our rebel template in the following link before Tuesday 21/01/2020, urging them to vote with the climate in mind. Find the template here http://tiny.cc/ryyuiz
PROTEST outside Hove Town Hall on Tuesday 21st, from 3.30pm with dust masks and placards. We will greet the councillors outside then we will head into the public gallery and make a visual statement to highlight the effect of pollution on our health.
We are committed to ensuring our council acts with the Climate in mind since they declared a climate emergency in 2018.
What's your plan Brighton and Hove city council? Will you provide clean air for the citizens to breathe? Will Brighton join progressive cities such a Bristol, York, Edinburgh and Birmingham? That are planning to reduce car emissions on their roads.
