Interested in banging or shaking something in protest of the government's inaction on the climate and ecological crisis?! Then join us for our rehearsal. We welcome percussionists of all persuasions to come and get involved.
The main purpose of our drumming group will be to strengthen and amplify the peaceful, non-violent actions of Extinction Rebellion in Brighton and beyond.
We welcome percussion instruments of all types. Please bring an instrument. If you have multiple instruments please consider bringing these too so that everyone has something to play. If you don't have one, we encourage making your own: an up-turned bucket or plastic bottle filled with rice is a great start!
We also welcome anyone who would like to lead, teach, impart drumming knowledge, share their rhythmic ideas, and create pieces for us to play! We are self-organised, autonomous and non-hierarchical. We hope to build a core group of people that want to share responsibility to make this drumming group strong and amazing!
Please note, while we welcome beginners we are not setting up as a school to teach drumming as a main aim. We hope we will bring together skilled percussionists to enable players of all abilities to join and have fun.
